Awkward Cher ♥

Simple Plan was the event of the day! I just got a free pass for it, thanks to a friend. Thanks John! Haha. Anyway, the plan was to go to school then straight to the concert after; so I needed to find an outfit that fit the whole day, appropriate for school and also good enough for a concert. 

And this is what I came up with…

{PS. My friends gave me a nickname before and it’s actually what’s written in my shirt! Wild Child. And until now, I don’t know why they gave me that name. ;))}

I wasn’t sure of what to wear at first but when I saw this shirt in my closet, I just knew that this was the perfect top to wear for the concert! Haha.

A big shirt from a random street store in Hong Kong, dotted stocking, beige socks from Cotton On, black combat boots from Sole Service, bonnet from Topman, skull ring from Wild Hearts, fangs ring from Yuki& a bracelet from Wild Hearts! ;)

Another style of my outfit! I was wearing black shorts under the big shirt. Wasn’t obvious right? Hihi. So what I did for this style was tuck in the front of the big shirt. Now see, it technically looks like a different outfit. Haha! ☺

SIMPLE PLAN: Get Your Heart On! Tour!

What else is there to say. It’s Simple Plan. Come on, don’t tell me that you were never a fan of their first album; when most of their songs were a hit! Right? Right? Songs like ‘Addicted’ to ‘Welcome to my Life’ to ‘Perfect’. Damn, those songs were just the bomb back then and now, they’re back! Haha! With their smash new hit here in Manila… ‘Jetlag’. I just love that song! I find it such a feel good song. ☺

I have to thank one of my guy best friends for the free concert pass he gave me! Thanks John & to your family too for bringing me to the concert! I just loved every bit of it! From the band, to your lovely siblings, to Pierre Bouvier! Hihi. ♥

So I went to school first and waited for John to finish his class. We went to their place in the Fort after class, just to kill time before heading out to Araneta for the concert!

1. The Higher Ground!

This experience was just great. I learned so much about myself. I challenged myself to do something different, something I always wanted to do but never had the chance & courage to do… And finally I got to do it!

Once we were done shooting, what else was there to do but party! Haha. We celebrated the wrap-up party first in Claude’s house for the dinner then in Fort Bonifacio Global City for the second half of the wrap-up party! ☺

I’ve been a fan since the first album and when I found out they were going here in MNL, I just needed to watch. My friend John asked me if I wanted to watch with him because he had an extra pass for the concert, I just couldn’t say no. Hihi. ♥ #PIERREBOUVIER ♥

5. John Dee Uy!

John. Super funny how we actually got to be very close but I’m very thankful to have him as one of my guy best friends. (Yes John, you’re one of my guy best friends! Haha. :p) I’m glad that through that silly little conversation we had about ‘you know what’, we got to be besties! Thanks for always listening to my rants and stupid stories! Thanks for always being there for me & thank you for the concert pass! Haha. Me love you long time bro! ☺

Hello there! ☺

My first ever post for one of my projects this year, which is the ‘Blissful 5’. Blissful 5 is an project that I based on Bea M’s ‘Five Things’ post. It’s all about the five things that made you happy for the day or the week, but I added a little twist to this project, added something more like me. Haha. Instead of only focusing on things, I thought of adding anything such as a thing, a place or an event that made me happy for the day or the week. ☺

So for this post, my ‘blissful 5’ for the first week of January are:

1. My spidey room slippers! ✓

Isn’t it sooooo cute? I just couldn’t resist, too cute to not buy! Haha! ♥

2.  My 2012 Starbucks Planner! ☕

I blogged about this a few days ago, the story of how I got this planner. First time ever I saw this planner, I told myself that I need to have it. I just really needed to have it and I made that happen! See. Heehee. ;)

3. Lights! ✧

Say hello to my pretty white lights in my room. I’ve been planning for the longest to have ‘Christmas’ lights in my room but never found time to buy and put it up in my room but last Christmas break, I made sure that will make those stuff happen which I did. Haha. Now, the lights are hanging in my room and looking very lovely tonight. Hihi. ♥

{PS. I’m planning to make a post about my room soon so just wait for that! ;)}

4. Self-made laptop skin and desktop! ✌

Lately I’ve been addicted to tribal patterns and for some reason, I made sure to put it up everywhere I can. Haha. My laptop was very much a victim of my ‘tribal’ makeovers. :)) The laptop ‘skin’ you see here, I just made that last Christmas break. Also my wallpaper, I edited it! Found the picture in google and just added my name to it. Hihi. Whatcha think? 

5. My new baby, my new D1100 Canon camera! ♥♥♥

Thanks to my dad & mum, after the loooooooooong wait… I FINALLY have a DLSR camera! Woot woot! For sure this camera had to be a part of my ‘Blissful 5’. Hihi.

This might not be the prettiest outfit out there but it is comfy and chill. I decided to dress up with a simple outfit but in a way, still looks fashionable. The trick is finding the perfect pieces to put together. ☺

Overall outfit: Plain black tank top (a gift from my mum), an off white lace vest (from Hong Kong), a brown woven belt (from Hong Kong)  & washed out maong high waist shorts (thrifted!). Paired with brown beaded sandals (from Matt Hews). ☺

Fashion tip: Simple is better. Don’t hesitate to mix and match simple pieces! Sometimes simple pieces mixed together turn out to be a great fashionable outfit! ♥

One Random Wednesday.

Since I skipped class for 2 days already for the ‘Higher Ground’ shoot, I didn’t know much what was happening in school but all I know is that we didn’t need anything for class. Haha. On Wednesdays, I really don’t have classes so I had time to grab a cup of coffee with one of my best friends, Francesca. Also, I got to watch a movie again with mum & dad. It’s been a while since my last movie, and it’s great that I got to watch one again! ☺

First movie of the year: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Critique: I found the movie good but I find the first movie better. I loved the slow motion scene though in the forest, with all the slow mo running, bombs popping & bullets flying. Awesome shit right there! Haha. That was the only scene that I really loved in the whole movie. ♥

10-11 January 2012.

After 4 days of shooting, we were done! Oh yeah! Proud to say everyone did a great job in executing what had to be done! ☺

So what is there to do once you finish shooting a film?… A wrap-up party btches!!! ♥

There were several plans for the night and one of those plans was to have dinner in Claude’s crib for the wrap-up dinner. Hihi.

Behind the Scenes of Day 4! Last & final day of the Higher Ground shooting!

I couldn’t believe that we only had 4 days of shooting. We actually got to finish everything on time, I mean on the day that it was really suppose to be finished. Delays in the schedule of the scenes that needed to be shot but no delay in finishing the shots in 4 days. 

I was pretty pumped up for the last day because first of all, I was comfortable already with everyone in the crew; second, my most stressful and challenging scene was done already. We shot that scene on day 3! (If you did get to see my post about that, check this out: THE HIGHER GROUND: BTS DAY 3.) And third, I actually like what I was doing and I found myself having fun being someone else’s character. Though I was still a little bit nervous when I had to do my role and had close-up shots but overall, I was enjoying myself with what I was doing. ☺

The shoot was done in Southville International School! Claude’s old high school! ☺

My character, Amanda, high school girl once more! Oh yeah! Haha!

Anyway, I’m the high school nerdy/awkward girl who has no friends. Haha! I just love that role! Haha. Also, I’m happy to say that people think I’m still in high school when I’m actually graduating college in a few months. Hihi. #loveit ♥

This opportunity I got is something I found once in a lifetime, even though I’m hoping it won’t be. Haha. Hesitated in the beginning of auditioning for it, unexpectedly getting the part, getting nervous as hell for the scenes to be shot, prepping up and internalizing the character I had to be, meeting a lot of new people, experiencing something new and challenging myself to do something I never believed I could do but other people saw that I can. 

All the stress and nervousness was worth it. This whole experience was a turning point for me. I know it may sound cheesy or fake but to tell you the truth, it’s true. Like what I stated earlier, someone believed in me that I could do it and I never thought I could but I did. I just did it. I tried and I think I succeeded. Good enough for a start. Right? ☺

I’m very thankful for this, for the opportunity, for believing I could do it and just for everything. How can I not be thankful? Everything’s just wonderful. ♥

Behind The Scenes: Day 3!

I didn’t have any bts of day 2 so I have to skip that. Haha! We’ll go to day 3 now. If you don’t know what ‘The Higher Ground’ is, I blogged about it the other day. Refer to this post: THE HIGHER GROUND: OPEN WITH A BANG!

Day 3. This was the start of my real work for the short film. I had to be in most of the scenes that were needed to be shot for this day of shooting. I was pretty nervous about it because like what I said, this is my first ever acting gig. I’ve never done any acting (for films or even plays) in my whole life, I’ve never took any acting workshops so I really had no clue if what I was doing was good enough or right for the film. I didn’t screw it up, it’s my first time and I want to show everyone that I can act. Also this was Claude’s film! One of my guy best friend’s film, I just can’t screw it up. He and his producer believes that I can do it and I have the talent for it so the pressure just boiled down to me when I needed to perform. I had to push myself to the limit, challenge what I can really do. 

I’m thankful that everyone in the crew was nice enough to understand that it was my first time and that me screwing up lines or give a moment to ‘internalize’ (naks. haha!) my character or the situation to act. Everyone just was super nice! I love it. I didn’t feel like they hated me for how my acting was. They were just easy to get along to and fun to be with! ♥

Happy to say that I think I did a good job. Still nervous about it though. Haha. I might think I did a good job but in reality… I actually suck. Hopefully it doesn’t end that way. I wouldn’t know what to feel if my character in the film (and my acting) ruined the film. Oh well, I would just have to wait until the film is done to know how I did! Good luck to me. Hahaha!

When I got home, I was super exhausted from the shoot. We started early and ended early evening. I just wanted to rest, watch a movie and relax. And yes, that’s what I really did. Haha! Guess what I watched! I know I’m super late but better late than never right? ;)

{PS. Loved the movie but I somehow expected more out of the film. Oh well. :p}

Adventure Saturday: PART 2 : Treehouse Daycare {@THDCOfficial} - SM Southmall: Somedaydream Gig {@sdrez} - ‘The Higher Ground’ meeting - Il Ponticello.

{The Unfamiliar : ☑ No. 2 // 09-15 January 2012}

BEHIND THE SCENES: THE HIGHER GROUND.

I had to go to a meeting in my {director} friend’s house. Why? Because I had to meet the crew I’ll be working with. Yes, working with. The Higher Ground is a short film my friend directed and I’m in it. I’m actually the leading actress for this short film.

I didn’t plan to be part of this short film. I was actually forced by my friend to audition for it. I didn’t expect at all for me to get the part but I did. This opportunity was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and when I found out I got the part I just couldn’t believe it. I never acted in my whole life but the producer and the director found ‘potential’ in me.

I’ve always dreamed of being an actress one day and I think this was an opportunity for me to challenge myself and see for myself if I’ve the got the skills for it. Haha. 

We actually finished taping last Tuesday. Those 4 days (Saturday to Tuesday: January 7-10) of taping were really great. I never experienced those rush of feelings in my whole life, the feeling that I have to internalize a different character; that experience was just life changing. (Yes, life changing. I know it sounds so dramatic but it’s true for me. Haha.) I actually realized that I really did like ‘acting’ and I want it as my future job. Hopefully one day, I’ll be able to make it big! :)

While they were taping a scene that didn’t need my weird face to be in it, I found myself taking photos of random things around the place. This is what I got, pretty right? ♥

Treehouse Daycare {@THDCOfficial} - SM Southmall: Somedaydream Gig {@sdrez} - ‘The Higher Ground’ meeting - Il Ponticello.

This day was pretty much an adventure, I had so much plans and thank God I got to go to all of them.

First up for my adventure Saturday was: the Treehouse Daycare!

I always volunteer here when I can. This daycare is my brother’s project, created about a year ago. He did this for the children who could use a place to stay and learn during Saturday afternoons. :)

Why don’t you volunteer with me? The next meeting would be January 21 in the Muntinlupa fire station! Drop by or volunteer! Make a difference! ♥

I actually made this logo. I did this back in high school for an art project; it’s suppose to be my future daycare but my brother got it instead for this free daycare project. Haha!

Second for my adventure saturday is the Somedaydream gig in Southmall! First gig of the year! Wohoo! Congrats Rez for the successful 2011! More power for this year! ♬

First day of class, what did I do after? Go karaokeeee! Hihi. ♥

My awesome brother Champ texted me while I was in school if I wanted to go KTV after class with him and my lovely friends: Jasmine, Kristina, Jamie & Rez. I haven’t been with them for the looooongest time so when this opportunity came, I just couldn’t say no. Hahaha.

We were to meet in Greenbelt after class around 7 but there was a conflict all of a sudden with my brother and also my friends’ schedules. They changed the meeting time to around 9 pm and I was already in Greenbelt. So technically, I was on time for the 7 pm meeting time but since they changed it, I was about one hour and thirty minutes early from the meeting time. Haha. 

Nonetheless, I enjoyed that one hour and thirty minutes alone I had. I just grabbed a seat in Starbucks, ordered my usual coffee plus sandwich and continued reading the book I just bought.☺

It was my first day of school for the my third term this school year and I felt like dressing up for it.

Here’s what I wore:

A leopard print top, a black maxi skirt from SM department store, a gold necklace, a brown bag & sandals.
